Andrey Fursenko

Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation

Andrey Fursenko has been the education and science minister of the Russian Federation since 2004, before which he served as the head of the now-defunct Industry, Science and Technology Ministry. A St Petersburg native, he also has a wealth of experience in the private sector at various company’s in the northern capital, including as the general director of the Scientific-Technological Regional Development Fund of St Petersburg. Fursenko holds a degree from Zhdanov State University.
