Carlos Ghosn joined Nissan as Chief Operating Officer in June 1999, became its president in June 2000 and was named CEO in June 2001. He is largely credited with turning around Nissan. In 2005, he was also named President and CEO of Renault. Before joining Renault, Mr Ghosn had worked with Michelin for 18 years.
Mr Ghosn graduated with engineering degrees from the École Polytechnique with last year's specialization at the École des Mines de Paris. He was voted Man of the Year 2003 by Fortune magazine's Asian edition and is also on the BoD of Alcoa, Sony, and IBM.[an error occurred while processing the directive]
