Sergey Kiriyenko is the head of the Federal Nuclear Energy Agency (Rosatom). He was appointed President Putin’s special envoy to the Volga Federal District in 2000 and simultaneously chaired the State Commission on the Destruction of Chemical Weapons. Kiriyenko also served as prime minister under the late President Boris Yeltsin.
He holds degrees from the Institute of Naval Engineers in Gorky and the Academy of National Economy.
