Rustam Minnikhanov

Prime Minister, Republic of Tatarstan

Rustam Minnikhanov is the prime minister of the republic of Tatarstan and a doctor of the economic sciences. After receiving degrees from both Kazan Agricultural Institute in mechanical engineering and the Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade in commodities, Minnikhanov started his career as an engineer. He became the finance minister of Tatarstan in November 1996, and was appointed prime minister of the republic in 1998. He is also the BoD chairman of Tatneft.
