Vladimir Pozner

President, Russian Academy of Television

Vladimir Pozner is the President of the Academy of Russian Television and rector of the Pozner School of Television Journalism. He has received many awards, including three Emmies and five Teffies (the preeminent Russian television award).

Pozner made his move into journalism in 1960, spending several years as the managing editor at Soviet Life magazine and Sputnik, a monthly press digest. He also served for the State Committee on Radio and Television from 1967-86.

From 1991-97, Pozner worked in the US for CNBC, where he co-hosted a weekly political talk show with Phil Donahue. In 1997 he returned to Moscow, where he hosts several highly popular shows.

He holds a degree in biology from Moscow State University.
